2. What can I use it on?
Answer: The good thing about the Office 365 subscription is that it’s one payment that covers whichever device on whichever platform you want to use it on.

The office now has a presence on every major platform. There are desktop apps for Windows and Mac, there are mobile apps for iOS and Android as well as Windows Phone.
We also now have the touch office apps that are available on Windows 10 which will, in some cases (like on 10+inch devices), require Office 365. Likewise, to get full functionality out of the Android and iOS Office Mobile apps you’ll need a subscription.

3. What is the difference between Office 365 and Office 2016?
Answer: Microsoft Office 2016 is a suite of Office applications that generally includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

Different versions of the suite include additional Office applications such as Outlook, Publisher, and Access. Microsoft offers a number of different Office 2016 editions, such as Home and Student, Home and Business, and Professional. The applications Microsoft includes in each edition of Office 2016 vary depending on the suite.

In contrast, Office 365 is a subscription service with a huge variety of plans available. Some of these plans are essentially identical to the Office 2016 suites, but subscribers pay a monthly or an annual fee as opposed to purchasing the software license outright. Some Office 365 subscriptions are aimed at consumers or professionals and feature the Office applications, but others are intended for IT departments and feature server-side applications such as Microsoft Exchange or SharePoint Online.

4. When will groups become full (SharePoint) Team Sites?
Answer: All existing Office 365 Groups should now have access to full team sites.

5. When Will Existing Office365 Users Gain Access To The Office 2013 Desktop Suite?
Answer: Office 365 ProPlus – the Office 365 version of the Office 2013 suite is made available to existing Office 365 subscribers with an eligible subscription today using the Office Deployment Tool. It will also be available directly in Office 365 once your tenant has been upgraded.

6. Can I Integrate Yammer With Sharepoint?
Answer: Yes. Yammer and SharePoint already can be connected using available web parts to pull in data from Yammer, and Open Graph technology to push information from 3rd party systems into the Yammer stream. (MJF: Here’s Microsoft’s timetable for fully integrating Yammer and SharePoint. On the pricing side, March 1 is an important milestone date.)

7. When Will Existing Office365 Users Be Required To Move? Can We Move On Our Own Schedule?
Answer: The service upgrade for existing Office 365 customers is progressing now. Once you are notified of the upgrade you can defer that one time for 45-60 days.

8. How will the user know if their mailbox has been moved to the cloud?
Answer: In a hybrid deployment, once we have the Hybrid setup in place, and then Migrate that particular user’s mailbox to the cloud, the exchange will push an update of those settings to that user. The user will get a notification ‘the administrator has updated your settings and you must restart outlook’. Once Outlook restarts, their RPC/HTTP settings will point to Office 365 automatically.

9. Will There Be Still An E2 Plan?
Answer: We are including Office Web Apps included in E1, which enables even more of our customers to get used of Office Web Apps while simplifying our lineup. E2 will continue to be available for existing customers.

I’ve seen a bit of confusion about what constitutes an upgrade vs. an update in Office 365 land. The easiest way to think about this is an upgrade is a whole new version of Office 365 (similar to what a new release would be in Exchange, SharePoint, Lync and/or Office). An update is a set of more minor fixes and updates, which the Office 365 team has said it plans to provide quarterly to those using the hosted services.

10. What is SharePoint Framework (SPFx)?
Answer: The SharePoint Framework (SPFx) is a page and web part model that provides full support for client-side SharePoint development, easy integration with SharePoint data, and support for open source tooling.

With the SharePoint Framework, you can use modern web technologies and tools in your preferred development environment to build productive experiences and apps that are responsive and mobile-ready from day one. The SharePoint Framework works for SharePoint Online and also for on-premises (SharePoint 2016 Feature Pack 2 and SharePoint 2019).

11. How To Access My Copy File?
Answer: If you open an Excel file using the OPEN AS COPY option, then a new file is created and saved in the same directory of the original file.

So if you have a file, say test.xls in D drive.
Then if you open the file as copy, then Excel creates a file in the D drive with the name Copy(1) of test.xls.
You can access this file through the path D:/Copy(1) of test.xls.
You can always rename and copy your file somewhere else but by default, Excel saves the copy of the file in the same drive.
Also, Excel duplicates the original file and whatever is in the original file, it is copied including formats, formulas, and other functionalities.

12. What are Provider-hosted apps?
Answer: Provider-hosted apps for SharePoint include components that are deployed and hosted outside the SharePoint farm.

They are installed to the host web, but their remote components are hosted on another server. i.e. App web for provider-hosted apps is completely a different server (provider).

13. Do you know what DirSync is? What is it used for?
Answer: DirSync, as known as the Azure Active Directory Sync tool, synchronizes your on-premises Active Directory users to Office 365. For details, I suggest you refer to Plan for directory synchronization for Office 365.

14. What is the SharePoint Document Library?
Answer: A document library allows users to easily store, upload, share, collaborate, and track documents or files. Similar to lists, we can create columns in a document library which represents the metadata for the uploaded documents.

15. Which of the 4 migration methods would use DirSync?
Answer: Hybrid and staged migration will need installation of DirSync before the migration. We can’t perform a cutover migration if DirSync is deployed.

16. What’s the benefit of using a hybrid type over the other migration types?
Answer: A hybrid deployment offers organizations the ability to extend the feature-rich experience and administrative control they have with their existing on-premises Microsoft Exchange organization to the cloud. A hybrid deployment provides the seamless look and feel of a single Exchange organization between an on-premises Exchange Server 2013 organization and Exchange Online in Microsoft Office 365. In addition, a hybrid deployment can serve as an intermediate step to move completely to an Exchange Online organization.

17. Would Love To Understand How Office365 Would Allow Us To Replace Dropbox?
Answer: Office 365 now offers SkyDrive Pro for personal document management and sharing. It is accessible across OSes and devices and comes with the powerful backend of SharePoint Online for versioning, backup/restore, review management, and direct integration with the Office Web Apps.

18. Are there plans for Group conversations and Teams conversations to merge or blend together?
Answer: Conversations are based on and behave like threaded e-mails and conversations in Exchange / Outlook. Teams conversations function more like a persistent chat room. Since both delivery a different experience we do not see the two services merging together in the future as they cater to different use cases. It is recommended you pick the right one for you though. Microsoft or a partner can help you decide.

19. What is the Compliance Center and who can access it?
Answer: The Compliance center manages compliance activities across Office 365, Exchange Online, and SharePoint Online. It can be accessed by the Global Admin. This includes: archiving, data loss prevention, device management, eDiscovery, import, permissions, retention, search

You need to determine whether someone other than the mailbox owner most recently accessed a specific Office 365 user’s mailbox.

20. the licenses are reusable correct? meaning, once you delete the group or person the license is then used for another user?
Answer: Office 365 Groups simply require users to be licensed for the appropriate services (Enterprise, Business, Education SKUs, etc.). Creating a group, adding members or removing members has no impact on your license consumption.

Answer: Same applications, but E3 comes with fully installed applications, the ability to have the applications on up to 5 devices, and an unlimited inbox.

25. Who can assign permissions in Office 365?
Answer: In Office 365 Enterprise, Office 365 Midsize Business, Office 365 Business Essentials, Office 365 Business, and Office 365 Business Premium, only global admins can assign an admin role

In-Office 365 Small Business and Office 365 Small Business Premium, any Office 365 admin can assign admin permissions to other Office 365 users.

26. Can I Use The Show Menu To Remove Revisions From A Ms. Word Document?
Answer: NO When you remove the check marks by the items in the SHOW menu, it just hides the revisions. The revisions will show up the next time that the document is opened either by yourself or by the reviewers. There is only one way to remove revisions and comments and that is by accepting or deleting them.

27. What Causes The Vulnerability?
Answer: The vulnerability results because, when opening a Rich Text Format document that is linked to a Word template, Word doesn’t check the template for embedded macros.

28. What’s A Template?
Answer:
A template can be thought of as a skeleton document. For instance, a template of a research paper might define the needed styles, include pre-built headers and footers, and include any required boilerplate text. When a user needs to create a new research paper, she could use the template as a foundation upon which to develop her actual paper. Examples of templates can be found in the Microsoft Office Template Gallery.

Like other documents, templates can contain macros. When Word is used to open a document that’s based on a template, both the document and the template should be checked for macros. The vulnerability involves a case in which this isn’t done correctly.

29. If I install Office 365 will it overwrite Office 2010 or can I have both versions running?
